HERON Corn Mill at Beetham is going On the Road with a touring show to celebrate and promote Tramping, a project creating awareness of the tramping journeymen, who during the 1700-1800s went out on the road to look for work. Apparently, there is evidence that tramping took place from the Bela mills in Milnthorpe. Reaching Grange Institute at Grange-over-Sands tomorrow (Friday, May 15) from 11am-4pm, there will be a talk from Stuart the miller about his work, a themed menu in the pop-up café, workshops, children’s activities, flour milling, and bread making. From 7pm, there will be 10-minute plays entitled Bread Cheese and Beer, performed at Keg and Kitchen, Grange-over-Sands.
