HERON Theatre's own resident theatre group, The Company, is bringing a 20th Century classic to the South Lakeland stage.

Samuel Beckett’s Waiting For Godot has perplexed and challenged theatre audiences for the past 60 years. Apparently, when first staged it shocked as many people as it delighted: there had never been a play like it. It was claimed that Beckett had achieved a theoretical impossibility - a play in which nothing happened and yet kept audiences glued to their seats.

Running from Thursday-Saturday, May 28-30 (7.30pm), a talented cast of local actors get to grips with the play, including former BBC North West presenter Christine Burn, and making her debut at the Heron, Lancaster Girls Grammar School student, Juliette Chandler.

Well-known for her performances for Lancaster-based Freehold Theatre, Erica Matthews is also in the cast.

Directed by Sammy Clark, The Company brings its own twist to Beckett's existential masterpiece.
