A RISING young cellist from Manchester's Royal Northern College of Music is the soloist in the Haffner Orchestra’s concert on Saturday (June 20, 7.30pm) at Ashton Hall (Town Hall), Lancaster.
Megan Rolf, aged 19, who hails from Aberdeen, is just completing her first year at the Royal Northern, and has been giving concerto performances across the UK. She shares the stage with the Haffner for Elgar's Cello concerto.
Conducted by Bob Chasey, the Haffner will also be playing Beethoven’s much-loved Eroica symphony and Elgar's Larghetto from Serenade for Strings.
