KIRKBIE Kendal School returns to the theatrical spotlight with a bumper summer show that's bigger and better than ever packed full of dazzling dances and big musical numbers.

The Kendal school stages The Wiz at the Brewery Arts Centre from Monday, June 29, until Thursday, July 2 (7.30pm), in an exhilarating musical retelling of The Wizard of Oz.

The story tells of Kansas farm girl Dorothy is transported in a tornado to the magical land of Oz.

Following the yellow brick road Kirkbie Kendal style will be talented performers Lydia Davies who plays Dorothy, James Siodlak as the Lion, Perry Stretton-Platt takes the role of Tin Man and Matthew Hayton plays Scarecrow.

The musical score is full of funk and soul and is bound to have the audience swaying in its seats with songs such as Ease on Down the Road, Everybody Rejoice, He's the Wiz, Y'all Got it and No Bad News.

The show is directed by Gemma Bethom and Jen Donald and put together by KK's head of creative and performing arts Mark Leadbeatter.

Laced with impressive dance routines and great music its a surefire hit, set to get the Brewery bouncing and one and all humming the tunes.
