ARTISTS Lara Clahane and Angie Flynn are on the exhibition trail bringing a splash of pink to Beach Hut Gallery.

Fabrics, embroidery and papier-mâché are the tools of artist Angie Flynn to create everyday images bringing them to life and making us smile.

“My images evolve from observing people and their surroundings recording these moments by laying down fabric, stitch and paint," explained Angie. "I also like to diversify and by working with paper pulp and collage I can make the same studies in 3D.”

Meanwhile, the ceramics of Lara Clahane are great to use and look at, being both decorative and functional, made in Audrey Blackman porcelain.

Lara said she liked her forms to be strong and simple to make eating and drinking a sensuous pleasure. She added: "My decorative bowls have a lighter than air quality, they want to float away. Their dancing decorative rims may look vulnerable but the porcelain makes them very strong and beautifully translucent.”

In the Pink opens today (Thursday) and runs at the Kents Bank Station gallery, Grange-over-Sands, until August 30.

Open Thursday-Sunday, 11am-5pm. For further information telephone 015395-35959/35414.
