FOLLOWING 2012’s ‘In The City’, 2013’s ‘All Mod Cons’ and 2014’s ‘Setting Sons’, From The Jam bring their ‘Sound Affects’ tour to The Forum, Barrow in Furness on October 9.

In November 1980 The Jam released their fifth studio album, ‘Sound Affects’, featuring their second single to reach the number one spot (‘Start!’) and the acoustic masterpiece ‘That’s Entertainment’.

Celebrating the album's 35th anniversary From The Jam, featuring original The Jam member bass player Bruce Foxton and guitarist/vocalist Russell Hastings, will perform the album in its entirety.

As well as a thrilling performance of ‘Sound Affects’ the audience can expect From The Jam to perform a selection of hits and album tracks from The Jam's back catalogue and songs from Bruce Foxton's own solo career.

Bruce said, “The whole idea of playing an album in full has really taken off for us and has brought back so many great memories. We will also, of course, play the hits and more to make what I think will be a great night.”

‘Sound Affects’ saw The Jam create a bright and unique new sound through the use of jangly guitars, sliding bass lines and light harmonies. On ‘Scrape Away’ and ‘Music For The Last Couple’ specifically; ‘We really pushed ourselves trying different and unusual things’ says Bruce Foxton.

Infectious tracks such as ‘Set The House Ablaze’ and ‘Pretty Green’ arguably show Bruce Foxton’s bass playing in it its finest light.

Bruce and Russell Hastings are returning to the studio to record a new album titled ‘Smash The Clock’ later this year.

The news was announced on crowdfunding site PledgeMusic, with Bruce saying “The success of our most recent album ‘Back In The Room’ was made possible by Pledge Music and, in turn, by you the public getting involved, for which we can’t thank you enough.

“The initial demos are sounding great and Russ and I can’t wait to start recording in early January. As on the last album we will have a few guest appearances, which we’re really excited about.”
