The Bardsea Art Group has joined forces with the Ulverston Society of Artists to create a joint Summer Exhibition showcasing artwork in soft pastels. One of the works for sale is 'A Park in Pastel' signed by the late Christopher Assheton-Stones, one of the UKs most renowned pastellists and ex-tutor to the Bardsea group. It is rare to find so many artists in once place whose chosen genre is soft pastels, and 88 years young Ron Stacey, who started the schoolroom art group in 1972 with just 12 members, has offered his pastel 'View of the Langdales' as a raffle prize to raise funds for the group. The exhibition runs until August 2 (10am-4pm) at The Bardsea Schoolroom.
