AROUND the World in 80 Minutes is the next dazzling Burneside Amateur Theatrical Society production bound for the Bryce.

Under BATS popular Showstoppers banner, this year's show has a fabulous flavour of far flung places, with the audience whisked off on a musical odyssey, taking in the music and dance of Europe, the East and the Americas, with all the hallmarks of being the most spectacular Showstoppers yet.

Showstoppers 2015 includes music from Summer Holiday, Moulin Rouge, The Sound of Music, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story and Rent (plus other musical surprises), interspersed with comedy sketches which push the travel theme on a hilarious trip across the globe.

There’s even time for the juniors to get in on the act, particularly with a 'fantasy' interlude in what's billed as the 'Frozen' zone.

Great singing from a talented cast of new and old, together with vibrant dancing, choreographed by Viki Buckley, Clare Walker and Helen Fothergill, all add up to a terrific evening’s entertainment.

This year's Showstoppers is produced for the first time by Sue Cook, ably assisted by Liz Archer.

Running from Tuesday-Friday, August 25-28 (7.30pm), the returning BATS cast includes Kevin Beecroft, Clare Walker, Elish-Jane Selby, Martin Cash, Dan Taylor, Jen Armitstead, Helen Townson, with new names entering into the Showstoppers spirit such as Viki Buckley, Tracey Howson, Louise Bell and Rita Brown. Not forgetting, 12 talented youngsters.
