FOR the second year running a group of fundraising folkie volunteers will be hosting a weekend of concerts, workshops and sessions in and around the market town of Settle from September 3-6.

The weekend will open on the Thursday with an evening concert by Bill Lloyd and Friends at Settle Victoria Hall, followed by an open session at The Lion.

Friday’s highlights include a Family Ceilidh with The William Small Orchestra Ceilidh Band, and late night dancing with the Duncan McFarlane Rock ‘n’ Roll Folk Band.

Headlining the day’s proceedings on Saturday will by Sheesham Lotus and Sons at Victoria Hall, with support provided by Flossie Malavialle.

The concert will round off a day of activities in the town including Meet the Darlings at the Quaker Meeting House, a ukulele workshop at The Talbot Inn and an open mic afternoon at Victoria Hall between 2pm and 5pm.

The festival comes to a close on Sunday with a children’s folk concert and a show from Churchfitters, supported by Mic and Susie Darling.

Throughout the weekend there will also be dancers in the town square and musical sessions in the Royal Oak and the Lion pubs.
