ACOUSTIC stars Blackheart will play an intimate concert at Hutton Roof Village Hall, near Kirkby Lonsdale, on Saturday as part of their ‘Beautifully Acoustic’ nationwide tour.

Winner of the UK Exposure Music Awards ‘Best British Duo’ title, Blackheart are multi-instrumentalists Chrissy Mostyn and Rick Pilkington.

Their unique music has been described as “a heavenly fusion of acoustic folk, intelligent pop and classical music”, by the BBC’s John Gilmore and “one of the best things to come out of England in recent years” by Fatea Music Magazine.

After three successful albums, over 600 concerts from Amsterdam, Berlin and Sydney to London, Belfast and Glastonbury and radio play in nearly every country in the world, Blackheart’s music is impossible to categorise.

They combine acoustic instruments and the voice of Chrissy Mostyn with piano, omnichord, electric percussion, electric mandola, bowed guitar and vintage synthesisers to create a new and very unique vision of contemporary folk music.

Their show features multi-instrumental playing and continuous changing of moods and combinations of instruments.

Their songs are true personal stories telling fascinating, sometimes hilarious and sometimes moving stories about their unusual musical life on the road.

Tickets are available from Alison Newton on 01524 273867.
