FURY’S Tornados will be storming into Barrow in March to perform in the hit show - “Halfway To Paradise – The Billy Fury Story”.

Named by the singer himself, Billy Fury’s original backing group are keeping his music alive.

After Billy’s premature death in 1983, the musicians thought that it was all over and all went their separate ways, but 33 years later, 29 hit records including ‘Last Night Was Made For Love’, ‘I Will’, ‘Jealousy’, ‘Wondrous Place’, and ‘Halfway To Paradise’ will once again be played just as they were all those years ago.

Liverpool-born Billy was daubed ‘The British Elvis' at the height of the rock 'n' roll explosion that shook the foundations of UK popular music in the late 1950s.

He soon went on to develop his own unique style – having 29 hit singles & spending an incredible 281 weeks on the charts. He once turned down the Beatles as a backing band, thinking John Lennon may be troublesome.

Taking on the role of Fury will be Colin Gold.

Halfway to Paradise – The Billy Fury Story, is on at The Forum, Barrow-in-Furness, on March 4.
