NOTTINGHAMSHIRE-based folk-rock band Ferocious Dog will be unleashed upon Morecambe in support of their latest album 'From Without'.

The band - which features Les Carter from 1992 Glastonbury headliners Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine - will bring their individual blend of punk, folk, reggae and ska to The Platform.

This follows a successful 2015 which saw the band play the Avalon stage at Glastonbury and sell out 1,900 capacity Rock City in Nottingham. They were the first unsigned band to do this in the venue's 35 year history.

Ferocious Dog are a six-piece who fuse traditional Celtic instruments with a more aggressive live rock sound.

Their live shows are renowned for their energy, and have earned them a significant following known affectionately as the 'Hell Hounds'.

Latest album 'From Without' sees the band add an orchestral strings sound to their music; the product being an album that shows the band growing and even incorporating wider musical influences.

Production was handled by Matt Terry and mastering from Al Scott. The album also features a co-written track with Nick Burbridge of McDermott’s 2 Hours fame.

Ferocious Dog play The Platform in Morecambe on May 7.
