Jazz music from the inter-war period is set to come to the South Lakes, as the popular Hot Fingers Trio & Emily will be performing at Grange-over-Sands golf club.

The gig, which will take place on June 10, will feature Thomas 'Spats' Langham on banjo, guitar, ukulele & vocal; Malcolm Sked -on double bass, sousaphone and tuba and Danny Blythe on guitar, clarinet and bass clarinet.

The trio will play hot dance music and jazz from the 1920s and 1930s mixed with vocals from the song-writing greats, crooners such as Bing Crosby and Al Bowlly, and hokem from the likes of Cliff ‘Ukulele Ike’ Edwards.

The Hot Fingers Trio specialise in vintage string music. They focus on playing instruments traditional to the genre, and are proud to play unamplified to provide an authentic sound.

This wide range of styles and rhythms, in addition to their audience rapport, makes the Hot Finger Trio's popular with 'sit-down' audiences and with dancers.

Emily Campbell will be joining the Hot Fingers line up. She will accompany the band with her vocals that draw inspiration from Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald.
