A folk duo from the Appalachian Mountains in the USA are set to include Ings in their yearly summer UK tour.

Jeni and Billy, who play their own brand of independent folk music with its roots in their homeland, will play at St. Anne's Church in the village on June 26 at a gig organised by dedicated fans.

Anne Hawson, who is organising the show, said: "The people who came to see them play in the Lakes last year loved them told us we should get them to play here so more people can come.

"They have a really unique sound. It was through seeing them live that I fell in love with them. They make you feel like they are in your kitchen, playing just to you. There is a really homely feel to what they do.

"They come to the UK every year and they are expanding their reach and popularity which is great. They are lovely people who love to share their music and get to know their audience."

The duo, who operate without a record label, play their own music, with folk, blues and gospel influences.
