An award-winning singer songwriter will kick off his latest tour in the South Lakes.

Elliott Morris is touring the north of England and Scotland this August, playing nine shows and documenting his journey ahead of his debut album recording and release, supported by the crowdfunding platform PledgeMusic.

The tour, which begins at Zefirellis in Ambleside in the Lake District on August 5, will see Elliott premiering new songs, alongside existing material and some choice covers. He will then play atThe Hope and Anchor in Ulverston on August 6.

“This tour is a really exciting one for me.” said Morris, who averages 120 live shows a year. “I’m looking forward to returning to some of my favourite places in the world, which are home to some of my favourite venues in the world! I am also looking forward to playing out my new material, before I head into the studio later this year to record.

“Crowdfunding means that people I’ve played to along the road so far can directly become involved in the creation of my first album.

“I have played these songs up and down the country in pubs, folk clubs and concert halls, and met many great music fans along the way. It only seems natural to include them in the next step!

“On our journey we’ll be stopping in a few locations, getting the guitar, the camera and microphones out, and seeing what happens!"

Joining Elliott on the tour will be friend and filmmaker Chris ‘Bing’ Bingham, known on YouTube as Slomozovo. Bingham will be documenting the journey, filming the shows and aiding Morris in recording on-location performances, which will become part of Morris’ PledgeMusic campaign.

Morris, described by Acoustic Magazine as “the next big thing”, has previously completed two UK tours supporting Paul Carrack (Squeeze, Mike & The Mechanics, Ace, Eric Clapton), at 53 venues across the UK, including the London Palladium and Sage, Gateshead.

Other support highlights include Seth Lakeman, Eddi Reader, Lau, The Levellers, Big Country and Frank Turner. Morris has also played at Cambridge Folk Festival, Hop Farm Fest and The Secret Garden Party.

Elliott Morris releases his album in early 2017.
