A POPULAR singer-songwriter has announced an intimate gig in Cumbria as part of tour supporting her new album.

Lucy Rose, who has played at Kendal Calling in the past and made the chart top 10 with her previous album, will play in Barrow Library on December 13.

It comes as part of five low-key library shows, which take place to promote her forthcoming live album 'Live at Urchin Studios'.

Rose has established herself as an international name over the course of her previous two albums; 2012's 'Like I used To' and 2015's 'Work It Out'.

The recording of the latest album came off the back of a tour around Mexico and South America, where she focused on playing to small crowds of her most avid fans, with whom she also stayed.

Upon returning to the UK, she performed and recorded the new album in front of an audience of 30 people - it is hoped that the library performances will accurately replicate this experience.

Alongside releasing her own albums, Rose has played with the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club and The Manic Street Preachers.
