A POPULAR Lancaster-based band will be returning to Kendal's Jazz club this December.

The Billionaires, led by 'Boogie Bill' Roberts, will play at the club's event on December 13, which will take place at the Hawkshead Brewery at Staveley.

They drew a large crowd when they last appeared; this six-piece lineup features singer Emma Williams plus trumpet, saxophone and a rhythm section, including Bill's charismatic keyboard work.

The band aim above all else to be a good time band, and are strongly influenced by the likes of Louis Jordan and other stars of R&B.

The Billionaires perform regularly at festivals and functions, and notably are resident party band of choice for Morecambe's iconic Midland Hotel.

Boogie Bill has supported then dueted with Jools Holland at the piano, while saxophone player Paul Froggatt touring the UK with The Kings Of Swing and Emma Williams set up a county-wide singing strategy for schools.
