The multi award winning Kendal Calling has won ‘Best Medium Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards.

It is the second year in a row that the Cumbrian Festival has been named the best event in its size category.

Festival director Ben Robinson said: "Being awarded Best Medium Festival once again at the UK Festival awards is extra special as it is voted for by the public.

"We had an incredible year in the fields with blisteringly sunny days, a carnival of colour, the friendliest crowd to date and Noel Gallagher closing the weekend with an iconic set of sing-along anthems.

"A massive thanks goes out to every pair of hands that worked behind the scenes on the 11th Kendal Calling and as every we salute the audience who year after year come back to the fields and bring it to life with the special atmosphere that makes Kendal Calling the award winning festival that it has become."

Having played host to the likes of Noel Gallagher, Snoop Dogg, Kaiser Chiefs, Rudimental and Elbow, the festival draws some of the biggest names in the world to the Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District.

Kendal Calling also proudly champions new and emerging talent and are this year partnering with Music Glue to offer artists the opportunity to apply to play.
