AWARD-winning Danish folk band Basco will be bringing their eclectic mix of musical traditions to the Yorkshire Dales.

A band whose main aim is to tell stories, the group are set to release their fourth studio album this year.

It will see them incorporate elements of Nordic, English, Celtic and American music into their own, original material.

The album, which is to be released next year, also includes the four piece performing with singer Jullie Hjetland and The Danish Radio Big Band.

Their tour will take them to concerts in Scandinavia, UK and around Europe.

Basco are Hal Parfitt Murray on vocals, violin and mandolin; Andreas Tophøj playing violin and viola; Ale Carr on cittern; and Anders Ringgaard playing accordion and trombone.

Parfitt Murray founded Basco in 2004, and composes the majority of the group’s material.

They met at the Carl Nielsen Academy of music in Odense, Denmark. They play at the Victoria Hall in Settle on January 22.
