THE next talented act to grace the stage of Kendal’s ever-successful Jazz Club will be entertaining enthusiasts this this month.
The Jamie Brownfield Quartet will be taking up the mantle following last month’s performance by Paul Palmer Quintet, who maintained their tradition of opening proceedings for the club at the beginning of the year.
The Jamie Brownfield Quartet, who play at the Hawkshead Brewery in Staveley on February 14, features young trumpeter and rising star Jamie Brownfield, along with pianist Tom Kincaid, a risen star who has made many appearances at the club. Ken Marley on bass and drummer Jack Cotterill complete the line-up.
The band are heavily influenced by the likes of Harry Connick Jr, Leroy Jones, Clark Terry,Oscar Peterson & Christian McBride, to name only a few.
Anybody who goes along can expect to hear music from New Orleans through to Swing and even beyond - ther will be no lack of variety.
The band members have played worldwide with the likes of Bruce Adams, Shakin Stevens, Scott Hamilton, Alan Barnes, Digby Fairweather.
The band have a residency, and perform once a month at Matt & Phreds Jazz Club, Manchester.
