Returning by popular demand following his visit to The Heron Theatre in 2015, Tom ‘Spats’ Langham has become one of the most talked about names on the UK jazz circuit.

With his virtuoso performances on acoustic guitar, banjo and ukulele and his ‘to die for’ vocals, he is the perfect front man for a trio that engages diehard and casual jazz fans alike.

The Hot Fingers Trio perform an eclectic mix of vintage acoustic string music; hot jazz of 1920’s New York, sophisticated 1930’s swing, the gypsy swing of Django Reinhardt and early blues of Lonnie Johnson.

Thomas ‘Spats’ started Ukulele as soon as his fingers were big enough, inspired by his Grandfather, and turned to Banjo at the age of 10.

At 14 he was appearing with the Hot Spa Stompers, and soon after with Ged Hones’ Dixie Boys. It was Ged who encouraged Spats to start guitar.

He moved to the Cotswolds in 1992 to join the Charleston Chasers. Since then he has worked as a professional musician.

Emily Campbell began singing during her school years and continued through to post-graduate training at Trinity College of Music.

She has adapted her classical background to the darker styles of jazz.

Spats will play the theatre on April 22.
