FRIDAY lunchtime organ concerts at Kendal Parish Church continue tomorrow (May 19) with well-known continuo player and author of an acclaimed textbook on the harpsichord, Ann Bond.
Following on with a recital on June 2 will be rising star and current organ scholar at Carlisle Cathedral, Jack Stone. Charles Edmondson performs on June 16; Andy Plowman, June 30; Ian Pattinson on July 14, which will include an organ duet with Andy Plowman on the church’s Bevington organ; and wrapping up another six-recital series on July 28, will be Jonathan Bielby, composer, lecturer, choral director, and organist emeritus of Wakefield Cathedral where he served for 40 years. He was borough organist of Huddersfield and has received various awards, including MBE for services to choral music.
Performances run from 12.30pm-1.15pm.
Following on from each 12.30 concert, organisers now run an additional half-hour programme of piano and organ music from 2pm.
