ALLEGRI Singers and Players are on the concert trail again performing their usual mix of great masterpieces and lesser known works.
Under the skilled direction of Owen Davies, Allegri perform on Saturday, June 3 (7.30pm) at St Andrew's Church, Sedbergh, and on Sunday, June 4 (7.30pm) at St Cuthbert's, Kentmere.
Allegri begin both concerts by commemorating the death 250 years ago of Georg Philipp Telemann, performing the extensive first chorus from his cantata Machet die Tore Weit. Vaughan Williams' Te Deum, a choral setting of Vaughan William's much-loved Serenade to Music, and Handel's glorious Te Deum, also feature.
