SOAKED is the new play by acclaimed Cumbrian writer and actress Emma Rydal and is heading to Ulverston's Coronation Hall on Friday, October 13 (7.30pm).

Filled with humour and drama, the play - staged courtesy of La’al Marra Productions - is directed by Peter McQueen and centres on Imogen and Rich, who don’t care if the glass is half full or half empty; as long as there is wine in it that’s what’s important. That’s how they unwind, how they party, how they deal with the stresses of life; young children, high powered jobs. But after 20 years of drinking to excess, Imogen is having second thoughts.

Emma burst onto the British film scene in 1999 with the BAFTA winning film East is East. Most recently she appeared as Celia in Sky One’s Stella. Her first play True chronicled the relationship of a volatile mother and daughter relationship through the decades. It was nominated for a Manchester Theatre Award and won The Audience Award for Best Production and an Equity Award at Manchester’s 24.7 Theatre Festival in 2011.

As part of its theatre tour, Soaked also plays The Beggars Theatre at Millom on Thursday, October 19 (7.30pm) and Threlkeld Village Hall on Friday, October 27 (7.30pm).
