ROSE Community Theatre performs Sedbergh and the Great War at the People's Hall on Sunday, November 5, a short play in support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Members of Sedbergh Town Band provide the music throughout the performance with the cast mainly made up of young people from the local community who portray the effects of war on a family and community.
Scenes from the First World War will be projected on to a large screen while various scenarios are acted out following the course of war from its origins with the shooting of Arch Duke Ferdinand and his wife Sophie. Proceeds from the production will go towards the Poppy Appeal.
Performances start at 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
Tickets at the door, from No 6 Finkle Street, Sedbergh, or the town's Mini Market on Main Street.
