KISS Me, Kate is Lancaster Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society's next showstopping soiree.

Running at Lancaster Grand Theatre from May 8-12, Cole Porter's musical homage to the sparkling wit of Shakespeare, gives a hint of the craziness of working in the theatre. The story tells of leading man, director, and producer Fred Graham (played by James Shields) who is reunited with his ex-wife, Lilli Vanessi (Jess Turton) when the two are forced to play opposite one another in a new production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. The battle of the sexes continues onstage and off, as it becomes clear that, as much as this couple pretend to hate each other, they are also still in love. Two well-known Cumbrian thespians also star in the LADOS show - Simon Yaxley and Bob Bailey.

Charity buckets will be at all performances to help raise funds for Morecambe Bay food bank.

Shows start at 7.15pm with a 2pm Saturday matinee.
