THE Gaskell String Quartet has quickly made its mark on the Manchester music scene. Winners of the Royal Northern College of Music Schubert Prize and Hirsch Prize for the performance of Beethoven, they recently made their BBC Radio 3 debut with a performance of Errollyn Wallen's All the Blues I See and have landed a place in the final of the Chris Rowland Chamber Ensemble of the Year competition for high quality chamber music at the RNCM. On Sunday (April 29, 2.30pm) the rising stars of chamber music, perform at Beetham's Heron Theatre.
