ARTIST printmaker Ann Marie Foster is exhibiting her atmospheric and vibrantly coloured work in the shop at Abbot Hall Art Gallery to coincide with Kendal gallery's spring and summer exhibitions celebrating the Royal Academy's 250th anniversary.

On show until Wednesday, May 30, Kendal-based Ann Marie was invited to showcase her work to coincide with the gallery's spring and summer exhibitions celebrating the Royal Academy's 250th anniversary. The gallery is showcasing work by Royal Academicians and in particular celebrating the work of Women of the Royal Academy, such as Mary Fedden, Shelia Fell and Paula Rego.

She said she was delighted to be asked to exhibit in the shop at Abbot Hall to coincide with Abbot Hall’s celebration of female artists from the Royal Academy. She added: "My compositions on display are anchored in exploration of the organic features found in nature: plant structures, texture and surface markings. My intention as an artist is to engage the imagination of you the viewer, to invite you to investigate the fusion of colour, imagery and texture and discover a personal connection that resonates with your own thoughts and emotions.”

Abbot Hall is open Mondays to Saturdays, from 10.30am-5pm.
