THIS year is the 70th anniversary of the death in Kendal of Kurt Schwitters, one of the 20th Century’s most influential artists. All Possibilities Are Open (APAO) is Annie Coxey, Delcia McNeill, Rosie Wates and Steve Trevillion, a group of innovative artists who have come together to draw inspiration from his legacy to support and develop contemporary art in Cumbria. Steven said their aim was to make Kendal and Cumbria as synonymous with modern art as St Ives and Cornwall have been. Working closely with the Littoral Arts Trust, which is responsible for the Elterwater Merz Barn, APAO is launching its mission with Ouroboros: Transformation of the Discarded, an exhibition of collage-based art that will be on show at the Elterwater Merz Barn from August 5-31, before transferring to Kendal Museum on September 12.
