GUEST artist for this year's Bolton-le-Sands Art Society exhibition will be highly regarded artist Harry Mills.
The former teacher's paintings will hang alongside society members work at St Mary's Church Hall, Main Road, Bolton-le-Sands, from Thursday until Sunday, July 26-29.
Harry studied art and design at Liverpool while training as a teacher, working in Liverpool and then for many years in Lancaster but never lost sight of his love for painting.
After retiring from teaching in a local school, Harry’s painting featured more strongly in his life, focussing mainly on landscapes of Venice and the Morecambe Bay area.
Using a painting knife with oils gradually gave his work a stronger physical presence and he enjoys experimenting with light, colour and texture.
Artwork by Bolton-le-Sands CE School pupils on the theme Save our Planet will also be on display. A painting will be raffled.
The exhibition is open 10am-6pm; 10am-4pm on Sunday.
