INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed Willshire Piano Duo regularly tour the UK performing a wide variety of repertoire, from Saint Saen's Carnival of the Animals and Britten's works to new commissions such as Duelogue by Rory Boyle.

The husband and wife team of James Willshire and Philippa Harrison are the next guests in Grange-over-Sands and District Concert Club's series, taking to the Victoria Hall stage on Friday, August 10 (8pm).

James and Philippa are also dedicated to educational work familiarising young people with classical and contemporary music through workshop leadership and teaching at junior Guildhall.

Philippa has an extensive, varied career and is a member of the Albany Trio with whom she has broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, performed live in concert as part of the 2016 International Women's Day, and appeared on BBC Radio 3 Proms Extra. Her work as a chamber musician has been widely praised. Meanwhile, James has been heralded for performances of "spectacular musicianship and technical brilliance" (The Scotsman) and appears regularly at the major UK concert halls as well as live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. A regular performer of contemporary music, James has given world premiere performances by Ronald Stevenson, John McLeod, Rory Boyle, Jay Cappernauld, Euan Ferguson and Richard Greer.

Their programme includes Ronald Stevenson's 2 Chinese Folk Songs as well as Schubert's Four Polonaises, Debussy's Epigraphs Antiques and Rimsky Korsakov's Scheherazade.
