THE PROCLAIMERS - Like Comedy

EVERYONE’S favourite identical twin singing brothers who come from Scotland and have raspy voices and play acoustic guitars and have matching t-shirts and matching haircuts and big cheesy grins and like wearing jeans are back!

Unlikely as it may have seemed when they started out, Craig and Charlie Reid have forged a hugely successful career after bursting onto the music scene when their second single Letter from America went to number three in the UK charts.

Most people will either love, hate or laugh at their unique folk-based songs, but, whatever your view, you can't deny a band who are celebrating their 25th anniversary of being in the music business.

ALLO DARLIN’ - Europe

LED by ukulele-playing Australian singer Elizabeth Morris, Allo Darlin’ will be familiar to listeners of BBC Radio 6 Music.

Their mission appears to be to take the indiepop world by storm with their nice Byrds-esque guitar lines and Morris’s twee vocals.

There’s something quite charming about this album, their second long player, which occupies the ground somewhere between Kate Rusby and Belle and Sebastian.

GET CAPE. WEAR CAPE. FLY - Maps

WITH such a brilliant name (inspired by an article about an old ZX Spectrum Batman computer game) Sam Duckworth was always likely to catch the attention of music fans.

His band’s latest album sees him staying true to the catchy style which has brought him so much success so far.

Duckworth writes infectious and urgent-sounding guitar pop which takes in punk and ska along the way.
