Woody, Buzz, Jessie and co are effectively a licence to print money this summer, with a cracking film on show and all the paraphernalia that surrounds it at the top of every young Toy Story fan’s wish-list.

The T-shirt and lunch box may be a safe bet, but the video game tie-in is usually wobbly ground.

Not this time.

Fantastic character acting, a smooth-as-silk regular story line, plus a superb open-world adventure brings the magic of Disney Pixar’s finest creations to your living room and will have the kids gurgling with delight.

Whether they’re exploring Andy’s bedroom or going shopping at Al’s Toy Barn, the attention to detail here is so spot on that you could be forgiven at times for thinking you’re watching the film when you’re playing the game.

And there can’t be a much better compliment than that.

Overall rating: 4/5
