Budding artists or experienced creatives are now able to swap the stylus for a virtual paintbrush, as Art Academy gives you the chance to unearth tips and tricks that could improve your draw and painting prowess.

What’s crucial here is the behaviour of the virtual pencils and paints on-screen — after all, if it doesn’t look or feel like painting or drawing, why would you substitute this for the real thing?

You’ve got 10 sets of paint tubes that make up the basic paint palette, with 20 spaces for you to mix your own colours, and a pretty helpful tutor, Vince, is on hand to show you how to use the art materials and take you through the historical techniques inspired by famous artists such as Da Vinci, Cezanne, Constable and many more.

Overall, this is a bursting package of artistic fun and games, with some seriously satisfying lessons to be learned if that’s what you’re after.

Overall rating: 4/5
