TWO pals have planned a record-breaking stag do in a fur-covered bus in a final fling before their friend’s wedding.

While Charlie Badderley, of Flookburgh, prepares to wed girlfriend Cate Arrenbergh, in December, university friend Tony Dickinson has been busy organising World Record attempts and a trip in their novelty vehicle.

Charlie, a 31-year-old army engineer, will be picked up by Tony, of Lancaster, and Tom Lawler, of Tebay, and driven through Somerset before the group attempt four records.

First the group will aim to achieve the fastest 100m on a space hopper.

Then the group will aim to beat the most hamburgers eaten in three minutes, which is currently 10.

Next, the friends plan to get the record for the fastest time taken for eight people to wrap a person in newspaper - using The Westmorland Gazette.

Finally, the group hope Charlie will take on the challenge of the greatest number of eggs crushed with the forehead in 30 seconds.

Tony Dickinson said: “Charlie is a confident guy and I don’t think this will faze him. I hope he’ll be touched at the effort we’ve gone to.”

The trio have made it their mission to travel across the globe in fur-covered vehicles since 2008.

In their first global expedition, they drove to Cameroon in ‘furry rascal vans’. The following year, they set off to Mongolia in a furry fire engine.

In 2010, the trio travelled across South America in furry mototaxis, and then to India in furry rickshaws.

Charlie even has the novelty transport to thank for meeting his fiancee, Cate. The couple met in Mongolia, when her Cate’s car broke down failed and the South Lakeland trio group rescued her from the roadside.

The stag do, scheduled for November 3, will raise money for Help For Heroes. For more information, visit www.greatballsoffur.com.
