Police are appealing for help tracing a 49-year-old man who was last seen in Ambleside.

David Peter Houghton-Lewis had gone missing from the Widnes area of Cheshire but was seen in Ambleside on Thursday (25).

It is thought he may have travelled towards Hardknott Pass and Wynrose Pass, however he could be elsewhere in Cumbria.

Mr Houghton-Lewis is described as 5’ 7” in height with a medium build. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a long red and grey biker jacket, black leather trousers, multi-coloured helmet and carrying a large black heavy rucksack.

He was travelling on his red Jonway Scooter, registration number: LJ11 KXL which is distinctive.

Further investigation has failed to trace him and concern is now growing.

Police would like anyone who sees Mr Houghton-Lewis to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting log number 646 of October 25.
