Ingleton landlord offers customers chance to take on 'Three Peaks' food challenge

A LANDLORD has offered hungry punters the chance to take on their own edible version of The Three Peaks.
Diners at The Masons Arms, Ingleton, must prove their stomach stamina.
Guests must consume 30 sausages, three shovels of mashed potato and unlimited gravy, within 50 minutes in order to complete the marathon meal.
Any successful eaters will make it on to the pub’s wall of fame.
Tom Southworth, who dreamed up the challenge, is charging diners £30 to attempt the massive meal.
He said anyone with a big enough belly for the lot would eat free of charge and is now waiting for someone brave enough to take on the challenge.
The 45-year-old has repainted the largest wall in The Masons Arms’ dining room with an image of the famous Three Peaks - Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside and a ‘Man Versus Food’ headline.
The pub challenge is based on the hit American reality TV show, in which celebrity Adam Richman attempts to eat huge meals within a set time.
Mr Southworth hopes to entice Adam to Ingleton to take on the feast.
“This is a slightly less athletic challenge than the original Three Peaks,” he said. “I’m laying down the gauntlet.
“We’re keeping a kilo of good quality sausages in stock, in ten different varieties.
“A lot of people come in here to eat when they are doing The Three Peaks, and we know there are a lot of people out there who can really eat.
“We’re excited to see who the first challenger will be. We’ve had people say they are up for it but no-one has taken it on yet.”
