MEMORIAL trees were planted at Far Sawrey in memory of First and Second World War victims.
Members of the village’s parish council turned out on a rainy day to plant the copper beech, Macedonian pine and variegated Norway maple.
Chair of the council Ronald Shuttleworth said: “For the last four or five years a few of our memorial trees have died and been blown over, so the Forestry Commission very kindly donated these to us. “We hope it brings a bit more colour to the trees.”
