A MAN was flown to hospital with a serious head injury after his van left a Yorkshire Dales road and ended up in a hedge.
Police, fire, ambulance and an air ambulance were called to the B6480, between Bentham and Clapham off the A65, at around 8.15am this morning.
A man in his mid-20s was found trapped inside a white VW Caddy van near to New Butts Farm.
The road was closed and a diversion set up while emergency services dealt with the incident and for investigation work.
The man was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the road re-opened at about 12.50pm.
He added: "Witnesses or anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Pete Stringer."
