Westmorland Gazette readers are being given the opportunity to own some fabulous limited-edition signed prints of sketches by legendary Lake District fellwalker, artist and author Alfred Wainwright.

There are eight different prints of various scenes in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Teesdale - all personally signed by Wainwright in his distinctive, favoured green ink.

Alfred Wainwright (1907-1991) is best known for his famous Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells, compiled between 1952 and 1966 and for many years published by The Westmorland Gazette.

The beautifully-detailed, signed, black and white 10” x 8” prints depict scenes including the famous bridge at Barnard Castle; Ripon Cathedral; the magnificent bridge and river at Knaresborough and the lovely rural hamlet of Gayle in North Yorkshire.

The other prints show Wycoller in Lancashire; Horton-in-Ribblesdale Church; the village green at Arncliffe; and West Tanfield, near Ripon.

The prints, which would make a fantastic Christmas gift, are available at just £20 each, including postage and packing, from The Westmorland Gazette.
