A Cumbria Police spokesman said they had received an increase in calls regarding door to door sales in the region and that all salesmen should have a 'valid pedallers certificate' issued by the chief constable of the police force from the area in which they live. Hawkers certificates are not valid.
If anyone is concerned, they can contact the constabulary on 101
