ANOTHER small earthquake has been recorded in Cumbria - this time at Patterdale.
Scientists at the British Geological Survey said the 2.1-magnitude quake struck at 9.37pm on Wednesday.
In January, a quake measuring 1.4 on the Richter scale was felt at Sedbergh and 30 miles off the coast of Whitehaven.
In Cumbria, the largest quake was recorded in December 2010, when a 3.6-magnitude tremor was felt across the county and parts of Lancashire and Yorkshire.
The UK experiences around 20 small earthquakes every year - most of which occur on the west coast.
