Police appeal after 'dangerous driving' incident in Warton and Carnforth
5:19pm Thursday 29th November 2012 in News
POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a report of dangerous driving in Warton and Carnforth earlier this month.
On November 20 between 9.30am and 10am, a white BMW was being driven through Warton Crag and Carnforth.
The car, it is believed, was following a black Ford Fiesta, and was seen to be driving erratically on Mill Lane, Warton Road and Market Street and officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything to come forward and contact them.
PC Andy Martin, of Lancashire Police, said: “In particular, I am keen to speak to the driver of a white van which we believe passed the white BMW car on Warton Road at approximately 9.45am that day.
“The driver of this van could have some information which may assist in our investigation, so, if anyone was in the area in a white van at the time and remembers seeing anything at all they think could help, we would ask them to come forward.”
Shortly after being seen on Mill Lane, it is believed the car travelled on to Warton Road and on to Market Street before travelling down Haws Hill and back to Market Street where the driver continued to drive in an erratic and dangerous manner, stopping for a short time on Haws Hill before leaving the area.
PC Martin continued: “Driving in this manner is extremely dangerous and it is only fortunate that no one was hurt – I am very keen to speak to anyone who may have any information and for anyone who thinks they can help to contact police by calling 101.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20121120-0395.
