A 38-YEAR-OLD man has died in an accident near Settle yesterday (Sunday). Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision near Stainforth on the B6479.

The victim was killed when his blue Subaru Impreza left the road and collided with a stone wall just after 8am. The road was closed for around six hours while police collision investigators conducted a detailed examination of the scene. Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Subaru travelling along the Ribblehead to Settle Road prior to the incident, to get in touch.

Traffic constable Ken Riley, of Skipton Road Policing Group, said: “We need to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision, therefore it is important that anyone with information comes forward as soon as possible."
