A MEETING for residents of a Kendal estate who have been affected by, or are worried about flooding takes place next week.

South Lakeland district councillor Rob Boden will speak about what work has been done since the chaos caused by heavy rain back in June, as well as recent flooding.

There will also be a discussion about forming a flood action group for Hallgarth, with the hope of finding some residents who would like to join.

Coun Boden encouraged as many people as possible to attend.

“I can also give an update on what I've found out about what the various statutory bodies are doing, and what help they can give,” he said. “If you have a particular issue with your home, I'd be happy to discuss this at the end of the meeting, or arrange a time to meet you.”

The meeting is on December 14 from 7pm at Hallgarth Community Centre. There will also be coffee and mince pies.
