Police to escort convoy deliveries to Old Hutton wind farm on Monday
3:05pm Friday 14th December 2012 in News
TWO convoys carrying large components for the Armistead wind farm site at Old Hutton are expected to pass through the area on Monday.
The deliveries are due to take place between 10am and 2pm and are dependent on the weather.
The first convoy will consist of two lorries each carrying a turbine blade. The second convoy will be made up of two lorries carrying a blade and a nacelle - the big box at the top of the turbine that contains the generator and gearbox.
Both convoys will have a full police escort. ‘No Parking’ cones will be placed along the north side of Helmside Road, Oxenholme, this evening to ensure that the convoys have a clear run on Monday.
A large crane was due to arrive at the site this afternoon and a smaller crane is arriving on Saturday evening.
