A WOMAN has been killed after being hit by a train in south Cumbria.
The incident happened at Moor Farm Crossing, Millom, shortly after 1.10pm, British Transport Police said.
BTP attended along with Cumbria Police officers and the North West Ambulance Service but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A file was due to be prepared for the coroner as officers worked to formally identify the person and inform their next of kin.
Northern Rail services from Barrow to Carlisle and Lancaster were cancelled and passengers urged to check before they travel.
