Motorists no longer need to input registration numbers at SLDC car parks after speedy software update

MOTORISTS no longer need to key in their car’s registration number at South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) car parks.

The authority says it has completed a software update on its new car park machines nearly two weeks earlier than expected.

The inputting of numbers was introduced with new pay and display machines.

However, following complaints from residents, SLDC decided to update the machines so the registration number did not need to be inputted.

The change had initially been expected to be completed by the New Year.

Coun Ian Stewart, portfolio holder for economy and enterprise, said: "We have managed to do this quicker then we expected and shows that as an authority we continue to listen to our residents and wherever possible act swiftly in addressing their concerns.”

life cycle too says...

Now they just need to sort out why parking in Windermere and Ambleside is more expensive than the Westmorland Centre in Kendal.

Oh, and why people would rather park on residential streets than pay to park in the Windermere car parks!!
