Update: Police name 24-year-old Low Bentham man who died suddenly as Simon Wilcock
4:50pm Sunday 6th January 2013 in News
POLICE have named the 24-year-old man who died suddenly in Low Bentham on Saturday night as Simon Wilcock.
Officers said they are treating his death as 'unexplained' but are investigating a possible drugs link.
Police were called to a property on Hillside Road by the ambulance service at around 11.55pm.
Mr Wilcock was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Maria Taylor, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "The investigation into his death is at a very early stage and we have not yet established what caused his death.
"However, until we have the full picture, I would urge people who use drugs to exercise caution and make sure they know what they are taking.
"If you are taking drugs you wouldn't normally use, or are buying from a different dealer you could be putting your life in danger."
Anyone with any information that could help the police with their inquiries into Mr Wilcock's death is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - selecting option 2 - and ask for Harrogate CID.
Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
