A MAN has been arrested following an incident in Dalton-in-Furness where armed police and negotiators were involved in a stand off.
Officers were called to a property in Broughton Road following allegations of an assault at around 2.30pm.
The area was cordoned off amid concerns a man in the property may have had access to a weapon, and nearby residents were told to stay indoors by police.
Cumbria Police confirmed that the incident was resolved at around 5pm.
Chief Inspector Michael O'Hagan said: "We can now confirm the safe resolution of the incident which resulted in the arrest of one male, for assault offences."
He added that no weapons were recovered from the incident.
